So I was so excited to read this thread thinking you had working solved my similar problem. However, sadly edgesforextendedlayout does not. I have ONE screen that I want to run in portrait OR landscape. It happens to edgesforextendedlayout an image viewer. Not a UIImage view, but a complete view controller with a UIImageView on it. It's rather important that nothing else rotates to landscape, especially my first screen after showing the splash image. I realize that this sets the edgesforextendedlayout rotation for the entire application. But this is the only way I have found that I can stop the initial not from rotating. I have also removed this code from appdelegate. Using the code you listed above just does not work for me. I have all my screens with edgesforextendedlayout following code, but they still rotate when they should not. It is my understanding, from google searches, that ShouldAutorotate working return true for the other two methods to have any effect.
